Chest made of solid chestnut wood with top opening
Chestnut is a precious and resistant wood, characterized by natural knots and dense veins that make this product unique.
The realization of the chest takes place following all the drying, seasoning and selection phases of the best tables, enriched with veins and knots typical of the chestnut.
After a detailed study of the design, the carving is rigorously handmade, finishing and enhancing the product with natural waxes.
A long process that encompasses all the techniques acquired in more than 40 years of experience.
INSPIRATION
The art of carving is one of the oldest and most developed in Sardinia and is characterized by the great versatility of the techniques used.
The element that best represents the art of carving is the Sardinian chest, the so-called "cascia", mentioned in some documents of the fifteenth century as "cascia Sardesca".
The Sardinian chest in fact represents a heritage of important artistic and cultural value for Sardinia.
Present in every home and placed at the foot of the bed, it was used as a wedding chest, to keep the bride's trousseau and the most precious goods of the family, but also as a support surface and as a seat for tying shoes.
